The Laguna Falls Institute for Astrophysics (LFIA) is a private institute founded in 2013 by Dr. Gregory A. Shields for the promotion of astrophysical research. It is headquartered in Austin, Texas. The current emphasis is on Active Galactic Nuclei (AGN) and supermassive black holes, with additional work on ionized nebulae and the chemical evolution of galaxies.
